Jason Haller, Felony Supervising Attorney
Jason has dedicated his entire legal career to advocating for the rights of underprivileged members of our society. He earned his BA in history from the Ohio State University in 1997 and his JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2000.
Jason joined the Cuyahoga County Public Defender’s Office in 1998, interning with the Office in his second and third years of law school. Upon passing the bar, he immediately embarked on his attorney career in the Youth and Parent Defense Division where he represented children in delinquency hearings and parents in custody cases involving the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. In 2006, Jason joined the Felony Division where he represents adults charged with serious offenses in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. He has also represented adults charged with offenses in Cleveland Municipal Court. Jason has extensive trial experience, having tried several hundred cases of all types to verdict.
In 2024, Jason transitioned to Supervising Attorney of the Felony Division. He takes an active role in training, mentoring and supporting attorneys in the Division. He is certified by the Supreme Court of Ohio to represent indigent defendants as co-counsel in capital cases.
During his tenure, Jason has served on various criminal and juvenile justice boards and committees. He also has taught local high school students through the Street Law Program and 3Rs Program through the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
