Linda Hricko, Felony Supervising Attorney
Linda has dedicated her career to high quality representation for people experiencing poverty in the criminal justice system. She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Linda’s experiences growing up in Cleveland led her to pursue a career working with the people of her community. She chose a career in law, and specifically public defense, after taking a class taught by her mentor and fellow public defender, Sam Amata. She has a BA from Cleveland State University in Liberal Studies with a double minor in Sociology and Criminology. She received her JD from Cleveland State University College of Law.
Linda began working for the Cuyahoga County Public Defender’s Office in 2004. She started her career in the Youth and Parent Defense Division where she was responsible for representing juveniles in delinquency hearings and parents in custody cases involving the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. She joined the Felony Division of the office in 2010 where she represents adults charged with offenses in the Court of Common Pleas. In 2022 Linda was made the Supervising Attorney of the Felony Division. She takes an active role in training and mentoring new attorneys to the Felony Division. She is certified by the Supreme Court of Ohio to represent indigent defendants in capital cases. Linda has presented on a variety of topics related to criminal defense in Continuing Legal Education seminars. She is an adjunct professor at Cleveland State University teaching a course on the administration of justice.
